COLUMBUS' JEGS CROWN MIDGET SUPER NATIONALS SEPTEMBER 19; WISE TAKES "FIREMAN'S NATIONALS"

Brad Kuhn remained on top of the USAC Mopar National Midget series standings after his fourth-place finish in Saturday night's 50-lap race at Sun Prairie, Wisc. and will take a 34-point lead over Darren Hagen into the September 19 "JEGS Crown Midget Super Nationals" at the Columbus (Ohio) Motor Speedway.

Josh Wise of Riverside, Calif. led the final two laps to win Saturday night's 28th "Fireman's Nationals" 50-lapper presented by Pepsi at Angell Park Speedway. He took the lead from Brad Sweet on the white flag lap of the USAC Mopar National Midget race co-sanctioned by BMARA to put his Speedway Motors/TRD Spike/Toyota in victory lane. Sweet finished second ahead of Hagen, Kuhn and Cole Whitt. A total of five drivers led the very competitive 50-lap race.

Sweet's finish kept him close in title contention, only 41 points behind Kuhn.

Hagen won at Columbus in April and will aim for his third victory of the 2009 season at CMS. The Columbus program also includes the USAC Midwest Ford Focuses and the USAC .25 Midgets.
