Traderindiana.com and Wheels and Deals present USAC "Open Wheel Wednesday" again this Wednesday night at the 1/5-mile paved Indianapolis oval, with 50-lap features on tap for Regional Midget, Ford Focus Midget and Kenyon Midget cars.
Beach won the "Diversified Insurance Brokerage Group 100" for National/Regional Midgets, leading the last 36 laps of the 100-lap race in his Beach Mfg./Fram Beast/Mopar. Brother Todd led the first 64 laps but slipped to seventh at the checkered flag. Billy Wease, Dave Steele, Josh Wise and Sondi Eden rounded out the "top-five," Eden extending her lead in the Regional Midget standings as a result. Wise set a new 1-lap qualifying record, while National point leader Bobby East failed to finish the 100-lapper.
Clauson wheeled his 3-K Racing Kenyon/Yamaha to victory in the 50-lap Kenyon Midget race, leading the last 11 laps after passing Alex Gamber on lap 40. Jonathan Hendrick was second ahead of Thomas Hennigan, Derek Bischak and Kyle Nicholas. Series point leader Brent Beauchamp failed to finish the 50-lapper.
Clemons led all but the first five laps of the 50-lap Ford Focus race in his Clemons Hauling Kenyon car, beating Tate Martz, Courtney Kirts, Rex Norris III and Jamie Williams. Kyle Robbins led the first five laps but was 18th in the final rundown. Brice Kenyon continues to lead the standings after finishing sixth. The race also afforded points toward the USAC Midwest Ford Focus championship.
