QMA Features To Dakota Jackson & David Herron

John Sluss, Bryan Clauson and Brice Kenyon captured feature events last Wednesday night as Traderindiana.com & Wheels & Deals presented USAC "Open Wheel Wednesday" at the Blossom Chevrolet Indianapolis Speedrome. Ironically, only Kenyon leads his respective series points!

Kenyon, of Lebanon, Ind., leads Andy Baber by 21 points in the Speedrome Ford Focus standings going into this Wednesday night's events at the 1/5-mile paved oval. He passed Brent Berry on the 19th lap of Wednesday's 50-lapper and led the final 32 laps in his H & H Automotive/NAPA Kenyon car to beat lady driver Stephanie Mockler, Jamie Williams, Kevin Studley and Paul Crafton. Baber flipped on the 19th lap but escaped injury, as did Joshua Clemons, who also flipped during the feature.

Former Speedrome Regional Midget Champion Sluss, of Indianapolis, led the final 15 laps of the 50-lap Midget race in his Big T's Auto Salvage Beast/Autocraft. Scott Thoman finished second ahead of new series point leader Sondi Eden, Travis Young and Joe Liguori. Eden leads Chris Manifold by two points and Young by four going into this Wednesday's events. Adam Kramer led the first eight laps and Adam Nuetzel led the next 27 before yielding to Sluss.

Clauson, of Noblesville, Ind., paced all 50 laps of the Kenyon car feature in his Roberts Pipeline/Sam pierce Chevrolet Yamaha to beat Dakoda Armstrong, Nick Bohanon, Brent Beauchamp and Thomas Hennigan. Beauchamp leads Armstrong by 27 points entering this Wednesday's races. Kenyon flipped on lap 43 but escaped injury.

Jerry Frickman of Cincinnati, Ohio suffered a concussion and a broken shoulder blade in a heat race crash during the Midget prelims. He was treated at Indianapolis Methodist Hospital and released.

USAC/QMA quarter midget racing last Wednesday resulted in 30-lap feature victories for Dakota Jackson of Elizabethtown, Ind. (Light 160 Class), and David Herron of Crawfordsville, Ind. (Heavy 160 Class). A.J. Hopkins (Light 160) and lady pilot Stephanie Tuttle (Heavy 160) were the runners-up.
