USAC's National and Western Sprint Car Series will have title sponsorship from Valvoline in 2004, 2005 and 2006 as the Lexington, KY-based company has extended its USAC involvement to an increased level.

The Valvoline/USAC National and Western Sprint Car Series are expected to debut in March and continue to highlight the commitment of the company, a division of Ashland, Inc., to USAC and grass-roots racing.

A leading marketer, distributor and producer of quality branded automotive and industrial products and services to more than 140 countries, Valvoline products include automotive lubricants, transmission fluids, gear oils, hydraulic lubricants, automotive chemicals, specialty products, greases and cooling system products. Valvoline also offers Eagle One car care products for automotive cleaning and maintenance and operates Valvoline Instant Oil Change, the second largest quick-lube chain in the U.S.

Valvoline has also been designated as the Official Oil of USAC's revolutionary Ford Focus Midget Car Series, which will experiencing unprecedented expansion in 2004.

"Over the last two years Valvoline's presence and support of USAC and specifically the Sprint Car series has grown," says Mikel Hartman, manager of motorsports marketing for Valvoline. "We quickly realized our best investment is the title sponsorship. Valvoline has something to offer every driver, team, owner and builder. Whether it's helping teams go faster and engines last longer with our new Valvoline "Not Street Legal" racing oil, or developing talent for the NASCAR team we own, there is tremendous opportunity for Valvoline in USAC Sprint Car racing."

Valvoline served as a presenting sponsor for USAC's 2003 Weld Racing Silver Crown Series and as the title sponsor of USAC's Silver Crown Series from 1986-1990 and in 1992.

Included in Valvoline's commitments to USAC participants are title sponsorship of the "Valvoline Indiana Sprint Week" and continuing "Official Oil" status of USAC, plus year-end bonuses and the prestigious "Jimmy Caruthers Award," which was presented to Dave Darland in December at USAC's "Champions Night" in Indianapolis, Ind.
