The battle for the 2004 USAC/SLVRA Rocky Mountain Sprint Car championship resumes this Saturday night at Rocky Mountain Raceways in Salt Lake City, Utah, with the top two drivers separated by only four points.

Defending series champion Jim Waters is the leader as a result of three victories in six series starts. Mike Baisch, who scored his initial series victory at Salt Lake City July 24, has been the more consistent driver this season, with "top-four" finishes in all six races so far!

Dave Fitzgerald, who ranks fifth in the series standings, has accounted for the other two race victories this year. A 40-lap feature is on tap at the 3/8-mile paved oval.
