Defending USAC/SLVRA Port O'Call Rocky Mountain Sprint Car Champion Jim Waters extended his 2004 series point lead with his victory in Sunday night's 30-lap feature at Rocky Mountain Raceways in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Waters' fourth win at the 3/8-mile paved oval this year came after he tracked down Mel Andrus on lap 17. Waters then paced the final 14 circuits in his Lake Elsinore Hotel & Casino/Crossroads West/Port O'Call Beast/Chevy to beat Andrus, who led the first 16 laps of the race. Paul Marconi, Mike Baisch and James Waters rounded out the "top-five" at the checkered flag.

Waters holds a 19-point lead over Baisch entering an August 28 race at the Salt Lake City oval.
