Baisch Leads Rocky Mountain Sprints into Race #3

Mike Baisch of Salt Lake City, Utah leads the 2004 USAC/SLVRA Port O'Call Rocky Mountain Sprint Car Series standings entering this Saturday night's third race in the series.

Baisch finished eighth in last year's series points and despite three fast qualifying efforts only posted a single "top-10" finish in eight starts. This season, he's finished third and second in the two opening events and would like nothing better than to improve another spot in next Monday night's (May 31) 40-lapper, part of the Snap-On Tools 125 program at the 3/8-mile paved oval.

Baisch leads defending series champion Jim Waters by three points. Waters won the May 15 race, while Dave Fitzgerald, currently fourth in the standings, won the May 8 series opener.

"Top-five" point drivers Chuck Maddox and Jeff Bergener are also expected to be among top favorites for victory in Monday's race.
