R.E. TECHNOLOGIES READIES FOR RICHMOND

Memphis, Tenn. -- June 21, 2005 -- The R.E. Technologies Racing team tuned up for this weekend's "Richmond Times-Dispatch 100" at Richmond International Raceway by hitting the pavement last week for a test session at a similar track, Memphis Motorsports Park.

"Both tracks are similar ¾ miles in length," stated Coons. "The test gave us a chance to shake down the motor and car since our last pavement race in January at Phoenix. Memphis is so much like Richmond that I think we learned a lot."

The team was happy with the fast times that Coons turned in the No. 35 Silver Crown car. In 2004, Jerry Coons Jr. sat on the pole and finished in third at Richmond driving for Mike Randol. Randol joined the R.E. Technologies Racing team in the off-season.

"Richmond is a fun racetrack," said Coons. "I ran good there last year. The guys also had a good car there last year with Boston (Reid). I think our pavement cars are real close now. I think we proved that out at Phoenix that the cars are very good. I have high expectations for Richmond."

COONS CLAIMS PODIUM FINISHES

Jerry Coons Jr. was two for two, finishing on the podium during the USAC National Midget Series portion of the Buckeye Nationals in the No.11 Wilke-Pak Motorsports entry. Coons finished third Friday night at Limaland Speedway. Saturday night, the Arizona native finished second at Eldora Speedway.
