Memphis, Tenn. -- Team Manager, Chris Santucci and Owner, Roger Johnson announced today that Boston Reid would rejoin the R.E. Technologies Racing team on a limited basis this season. Reid is scheduled pilot the No. 135 J&J Silver Crown™ machine at select events on pavement.

"It is so good to get back and run were you are from," smiled Reid. "Any time you get an opportunity to run a Silver Crown car, you are looking forward to it."

"Boston will run Phoenix and possibly one other event for us," stated Santucci. "The rest of the time, he is committed to the Busch team."

On Wednesday, Hendrick Motorsports announced that Blake Feese and Boston Reid are each scheduled to compete in a minimum of 13 races behind the wheel of the No. 5 Lowe's Chevrolet in the NASCAR Busch Series. Reid's first start in the No. 5 car is tentatively set for California Speedway followed by Nashville Superspeedway.

"The open wheel cars teach you a good feel, on the pavement and the dirt," said the 22 year old Reid. "The non-winged stuff teaches you a lot of car control. The Silver Crown cars teaches you tire management over 100 laps, and I think that prepares you for the Busch Series cars, where you have to run your tires for 60 or 70 laps. I think it's just good learning ground."

Last season in addition to driving for R.E. Technologies, Reid inked the development deal with Hendrick Motorsports. He started four ARCA and three Busch Series events for a team affiliated with Hendrick's driver development program.

TESTING TESTING

The R.E. Technologies Racing team is returning the same crew that Reid ran with last season as well as USAC veteran Jerry Coons Jr. Coons and the team tested the No. 35 and Reid's No. 135 car earlier this week at Phoenix. The team spent two days at the one-mile oval working in preparation for the Copper World Classic. Photos from the test and final preparations of the cars in our shop can be seen on our photos gallery online at www.retechracing.com.

NEXT RACE

The 27th Copper World Classic will take place January 29th and 30th at Phoenix International Raceway.
