MEMPHIS, TN -- February 24, 2003 -- Roger Johnson, owner of Memphis, TN based R.E. Technologies Racing, announced today he has named Donny Schatz and Tyler Walker as the drivers for his two car USAC Silver Crown team for the 2003 season. The 12-event USAC Weld Silver Crown Series season kicks off March 23,2003 at Phoenix International Raceway.

"It gives me great pleasure to make this announcement," said Johnson. "I consider Donny and Tyler to be two of the great young talents in motorsports today. They will compliment each other tremendously as teammates and bring a new ingredient of excitement to the series.

"As a team, we are focused on being contenders for the win every race to give our sponsors the desired exposure utilizing our race team as an integral part of their marketing plan. Additionally, our goal is to provide a platform for Donny and Tyler to showcase their talents in quality equipment. Both young men are committed to building careers as professional race drivers and we want to facilitate those aspirations to the best of our ability. Their success is our success."

"Chris Santucci will serve as Tyler's crew chief and Jack French will head up Donny's team. The two teams will share their expertise with one another at the shop and in the pits. With J & J Chassis, Gaerte Engines, Sander Engineering Wheels and Hoosier Tires we believe we have put together winning combinations for both drivers. It is going to be a great season."

Schatz will carry the long-time sponsor colors of his family-owned World of Outlaws team, ParkerStores and Schatz Crossroads Truckstops on his yellow #115. The Fargo, North Dakota native's racing career started in go-karts taking him to winged sprint cars at 15 years old. After winning both the Wissota Series Rookie of the Year and National Points Championship while running select World of Outlaws events to gain experience, in 1997, he graduated to a full-time WoO competitor winning the Rookie of the Year title.

Since that time Schatz has filled his resume with wins and podium finishes in virtually every major sprint car event in both the United States and Australia. His impressive list of wins includes the $100,000 to win Historical Big One at Eldora Speedway, the Williams Grove National Open and back-to-back wins in the Kele World Challenge at the Knoxville Nationals. "Down Under" he is a multi-time champion of the Australian Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic as well as the Kings Challenge and the $50,000 Summer Slam.

"This is a fantastic opportunity for me," said Schatz. "With the support of ParkerStores and the equipment Roger has put in place for our team to succeed, I am just excited to get in the car and start racing.

"We just finished a test at Memphis and the car was awesome. Despite very limited time racing on pavement, I felt comfortable in the car and the crew and I communicated very well.

"I have a fresh, new attitude going into this season. I am committed to focusing on the Silver Crown program. I am giving this opportunity 100% of my attention and dedication, which means there will be a few conflicts with the World of Outlaws schedule. If I can reasonably make both events, that is the plan, but if it is just logistically impossible, I have the support of my team owners and sponsors to put the Silver Crown program first.

"I want to thank Roger and R.E. Technologies Racing for the chance to move my career to the next level. When you look at the top drivers in all three major NASCAR divisions as well as the IRL, almost all successfully graduated as champions in the USAC Silver Crown Series. This is truly an important step in the right direction for my career."

"We are very proud to have the opportunity to continue supporting the growth of Donny's career," stated John Strand, Market Specialist, Parker Hannifin Corporation. "Our association with the Schatz family in the World of Outlaws series has been tremendous so continuing with Donny is the natural progression. USAC has proven itself to be the springboard for the careers of some of the great drivers in other series. We are proud to have the opportunity to associate the ParkerStores with Donny, the team and USAC."

Tyler Walker will be the pilot and teammate for the RE Technologies Silver Crown race team. Tyler, the defending WoO Gumout Series Champion, is a fourth generation driver that began his racing career at the young age of eleven in go-karts. In just five years, Tyler had won over 200 races and held the California State kart driving title for three consecutive years. On his sixteenth birthday he graduated to winged 410 sprint cars, where he has amassed several wins in the WOO, All-Stars and Northern Auto Racing Club and received the Knoxville Nationals Rookie of the year award. In addition to his winged racing, Tyler was named The Little 500 rookie of the year and has earned top-five finishes in his USAC non-wing pavement and dirt racing. Walker, at just 23 years old, is looking to win the USAC Silver Crown Championship this season to put himself in line for a shot with an Indy Infiniti Pro Series or a NASCAR Truck team for next season.

"This is the best set of circumstances that I could ask for," stated Walker. "I am thrilled to be working with RE Technologies this year. I know that Roger and the team are dedicated to winning races. Winning the Gumout Championship last year was a huge boost to my career. I am going to carry that momentum into this Silver Crown program and try to win the championship."

In addition to competing in the entire USAC Silver Crown Series, Tyler's 2003 racing schedule will consist of a partial WoO schedule as well as running selected big purse USAC and SCRA sprint car events.

"It is definitely going to be a busy and exciting season," said Walker. "The Silver Crown Title is real important to me because over the last ten years so many successful drivers in NASCAR and the IRL have come through this division. This is why the Silver Crown program is my top priority this season. Right now, I am just excited. The car was real fast in Memphis. I am real confident that our race team will be in contention for the Silver Crown points championship all season long."

In addition to the Silver Crown team, R.E. Technologies Racing promotes the Kele World Challenge race held annually in conjunction with the internationally renowned Knoxville Nationals. The event is head to head competition between US racers who have raced in Australia and New Zealand and their Australian, New Zealand and Canadian counterparts.

Roger Johnson also co-owns two Indy Racing League Infinity Pro Series cars with IRL icon, Ron Hemelgarn. Hemelgarn 91 -- Johnson Motorsports drivers Cory Witherill and Aaron Fike finished fourth and fifth respectively in the series point standings and picked up two wins in the inaugural 2002 season.
