Carl Edwards to Drive for R.E. Technologies Racing at Indianapolis Raceway Park

Memphis, Tenn. -- July 30, 2004 -- R.E. Technologies Racing announced today, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series star, Carl Edwards will drive the No. 191 Hemelgarn 91 Johnson Motorsports/ R.E. Technologies Racing entry at the J.D. Byrider 100 at Indianapolis Raceway Park on August 5th.

"I am excited about running in the USAC Silver Crown Series again with the R.E. Technologies Racing team at IRP," said Carl Edwards. "I enjoy working with the guys and team manager Chris Santucci is awesome. It will be a blast."

Edwards finished third last year at the .686 mile oval driving the No. 95 Don Ott Racing Engines/ C&B Mushroom Farms Silver Crown entry. The following night, he drove his Roush Racing No. 99 Superchips Ford truck to victory lane at the Power Stroke Diesel 200 at IRP.

This is not Edwards first time to drive with R.E. Technologies Racing. The Missouri native drove the "Spirit of Knoxville" to a ninth place finish at the first Silver CrownTM race of the year in Phoenix. The J.D. Byrider 100, on Thursday night August 5th, kicks off Kroger Speedfest at Indianapolis Raceway Park. On Friday night, Edwards will climb into his No. 99 Superchips Ford truck. He will be going for his third win in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series this season. Edwards and the No. 99 Superchips team started off the year with a win at Daytona and led the point standings after Daytona and Martinsville. They captured another win at Kansas in July and he earned his second career pole at Dover in May.
