CAMERON DODSON, JOSH WISE AND THE CARL EDWARDS/ R.E. TECHNOLOGIES RACING TEAM LOOK TO MAKE IT TWO IN A ROW AT OSWEGO SPEEDWAY
MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- The Carl Edwards/ R.E. Technologies Racing team is hoping to repeat their last performance and put both drivers on their podium this Thursday at the Kasey Kahne Steel Palace 100 at Oswego Speedway in Oswego, N.Y. The team won Friday at Iowa Speedway when Cameron Dodson put the No. 991 Carl Edwards/ R.E. Technologies Racing/ Roush/Yates Engines powered Ford / Hemelgarn/ Johnson Motorsports entry into victory lane for the second year in a row.
"I could not ask for anything else," said Cameron Dodson. "The car was on a rail. Carl Edwards, Roger Johnson, Chris Santucci and Dennis LaCava gave me an excellent car. We definitely had a good weekend. Hopefully we can take that momentum, go to New York and get our second win."
Meanwhile, the driver of the No. 199 Carl Edwards/ Curb-Agajanian/ R.E. Racing entry, Josh Wise is hoping for a little bit better luck as mechanical gremlins have bit his team.
"Our main focus right now is to get everything going right," said an optimistic Wise. "If we have a good smooth night, then there is no reason we should not have a good run."
This will be the first time the USAC K & N Silver Crown Series has raced on the 5/8 mile paved Oswego oval in 42 years. Although the track may be similar to O'Reilly Raceway Park, for the drivers it will be a new experience.
"I am excited about racing on a new track," said Wise. "I think if we apply a little of what we learned at ORP and improve on it, we should have a good run."
"I heard it was like ORP," added Dodson."We had a good setup there so we will just have to dial it in a little bit. Hopefully another win here would give me the recognition to help find some more sponsorship for this season and 2010."
