University of Northwestern Ohio extends USAC contract through 2005.
The United States Auto Club announced today that the University of Northwestern Ohio, located in Lima, Ohio, has extended their existing contract for an additional 3 year period as the "Official High Performance Motorsports University of USAC".
Dr. Jeff Jarvis, President of UNO stated, "All of us at the University were extremely pleased about our association with USAC in 2002 and elected to extend this agreement for another 3 years primarily because of what USAC brings to the table for our students and faculty. Their performance of their responsibilities as a sanctioning body, to us as an official USAC sponsor were exemplary and much more than we expected". We truly feel that this relationship will continue to grow and become more fruitful for everyone involved".
The University of Northwestern Ohio, which was founded in 1920, offers a full curriculum of studies including a four year BS Degree in High Performance Motorsports. UNO is the only NC accredited university with this type of program in the United States.
USAC President/CEO, Rollie Helmling agrees and states, "It is a pleasure and privilege for USAC to be affiliated with a fine institution like the University of NW Ohio. The opportunities that they bring to USAC and our participants are significant as we grow into the future".
"The University of NW Ohio offers the motorsports industry the highest qualified entry level personnel available in today's growing motorsports market place" says, Steve Farmer, USAC Director Sales/Marketing. "Not only are they trained in the classroom, garages and racetracks, they go the extra mile to learn about money management, sanctioning bodies, marketing and they have the necessary knowledge to carry this forward. I am proud to continue our relationship with UNO and I know that it will continue to grow".
In addition, UNO has also agreed to a three year deal to sponsor the "Buckeye National", Limaland Motorsports Park event which will be televised live on SPEED CHANNEL. Presenting sponsors are yet to be named for this event.
USAC, which begins its 48th year as a race sanctioning body in 2003, is pleased that UNO has chosen to be a part of USAC's Golden Anniversary season in 2005 and looks forward to this additional three years of mutually-beneficial association.
