Strong Finish For R.E. Technologies at Nazareth
Nazareth, Pa. -- August 30, 2004 -- Boston Reid passed nine drivers on a tight racecourse Sunday to finish twelfth at the Bully Hills Vineyards 100 at Nazareth Speedway.
"We had a really good race car today," said Reid. The Curb Records/ Valvoline car and our Gaerte motor were strong all day. Our J&J Chassis with the Penske Racing Shocks kept getting better and better as the race went on."
The team started out the weekend solid, scoring top fifteen times in every practice session. When it came time to qualify, the team turned a lap good for a 21st starting position.
"At the end of the day, we were 12th quick in practice," said Reid. "I needed a little bit more left rear drive and I asked the team for more and they gave me exactly what I asked for. That is where I screwed up because the change made us tight and slowed us down in qualifying."
The team bounced back from their qualifying position turning a time good for 8th quick in the morning warm up session. When the green flag fell on final Silver Crown event at the one mile oval, Reid took off. The Indiana native was patient picking off driver after driver to score a 12th place finish.
"We probably had a top five racecar today," said Reid. "This Nazareth racetrack is tough to pass on. We gained nine positions so that just shows you how good our car was."
