NAZARETH, PA (April 20, 2002) - Jason Leffler earned the pole position for Sunday's USAC Silver Crown race at Nazareth Speedway. Leffler's qualifying lap stopped the clocks at 26.227 seconds for an average speed of 137.263 mph.

"Silver Crown qualifying is kind of tricky. It's pretty ragged, you're on the edge, you're on the gas and spinning the tires, so you never know what you're going to have," Leffler said. "The motor was running good and the car was handling fairly decent so I knew we would end up somewhere up front."

Paul White, 2001 Silver Crown champion, qualified on the outside of the front row after turning a lap at 136.565 mph.

Mike Bliss qualified third, followed by Brad Noffsinger and Dave Steele in fifth. Rounding out the top ten were Tracy Hines, Brad Armstrong, J. J. Yeley, Jerry Coons Jr. and Brian Paulus.
