ANDERSON KENYON RACE POSTPONED TO SEPTEMBER 29; GOUGH TAKES GRUNDY COUNTY MIDGET FEATURE

The USAC Regional Midget and Kenyon Midget Car Series are idle until September 29 when the Kenyon Midgets, postponed by rain Saturday, return to the Anderson (Ind.) Speedway and the Midgets head for Berlin Raceway in Marne, Mich.

David Gough of Machesney Park, Ill. won Saturday night's 40-lap Regional Midget race at Grundy County Speedway in Morris, Ill. He took the lead on a restart after Brian Olson's crash in turn one on lap four and was never again headed in his Callahan Motorsports/DuPont Callahan/Fontana.

Olson, of Puyallup, Wash., was leading the race when he hit the wall and flipped. He was transferred to Morris Hospital suffering from a broken right arm, bruised lung and a pelvis fracture.

Trailing Gough at the checkered flag were fast qualifier Stephanie Mockler, Alex Pruett, Jim Anderson and Parker Klingerman. Series point leader James Robertson finished sixth and takes a 91-point lead over Pruett into the September 29 race in Michigan.

Rain forced postponement of Saturday night's Kenyon Midget race at Anderson (Ind.) Speedway after qualifications. The event has been rescheduled for September 29, with Kyle Hamilton continuing as the series point leader.
