INDIANAPOLIS, IN (September 16) -- Kasey Kahne moved a step closer to the MCI WorldCom Midget Car Series championship Saturday by finishing fourth in the feature race at Indianapolis Raceway Park. Kahne qualified 10th-quick and drove Steve Lewis' #91 Beast into second place in the Second Heat Race before passing six cars en route to his 13th top-five finish this year. Kahne followed Jason Leffler, Dave Darland and Jay Drake under the checkered flag in the series' 18th race of the season. "The track wasn't as wide and racy as it usually is, so it took a while to get into it," Kahne said. "There were no yellows at the end either, so it was tough to catch the guys ahead of me. I was able to stay with Darland and Drake, but Leffler was faster than all of us." Kahne leads Drake by 227 points with four events remaining on the schedule. ESPN2 will televise the event Sunday, starting at 10:30 p.m. (EDT). "We're going pretty good, but we haven't won since Belleville (August 12th)," Kasey said. "We need to go faster the rest of the year." Next on the USAC MCI WorldCom Midget Car Series schedule is the Four Crown Nationals at Eldora Speedway September 30th.
