Billy Wease of Noblesville, Ind. led all but the opening two laps to win Wednesday night's "National City Bank 100" presented by Diversified Insurance Brokerage Group at the Blossom Chevrolet Indianapolis Speedrome. The victory was his first in USAC National Midget competition.

Wease and the National series now prepare for this Saturday's "Joe James/Pat O'Connor Classic" doubleheader at the Salem (Ind.) Speedway, showcasing the Valvoline National Sprint Cars and National Midgets. A 30-lap Midget feature precedes the 50-lap Sprint Car race on the 1/2-mile paved oval.

Wease trailed Mario Marietta for the first two laps of Wednesday's Indianapolis race, part of the track's Traderindiana.com and Wheels and Deals present "Open Wheel Wednesday." He put his Bill Wease Masonry/Burco Beast/Pink Chevy in front to stay on lap three, then held off a late-race bid from Dave Steele, who finished second. National Midget point leader Bobby East was third and was followed at the checkered flag by Aaron Fike and Ron Gregory.

East continues to own a comfortable point lead over Josh Wise, 20th at the Speedrome, in the new series standings going into this Saturday's Salem event.

Sondi Eden of Crawfordsville, Ind. finished 13th in the Speedrome 100-lapper to retain her lead in the Speedrome Regional Midget Series standings.
