INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Cameron Dodson was hoping to record another top ten in his first start on dirt in the USAC Silver Crown Series presented by K&N but it was not to be Friday night in Indianapolis, Ind. Rain ended the night for all of the participants. Before the rain spoiled the evening, Cameron Dodson had timed in 9th quick at 35.727 in the No. 199 Ford, Hoosier Tires, Red Line Oil sponsored car during practice. Levi Jones had the fastest time at 35.061. Driver's points leader Aaron Pierce was second quick.

This is the first time in six years the Hoosier Hundred has been cancelled because of rain. Both the 2000 and 2001 races were rained out and rescheduled for later those seasons. USAC is working with the promoters to reschedule the event for later this season. Cameron Dodson and the No. 199 Carl Edwards/ R.E. Technologies Racing team will now prepare for a stretch of three straight pavement races beginning June 29-30th at Richmond International Raceway.

The No. 199 Carl Edwards/ R.E. Technologies Racing entry leads the USAC Silver Crown owner's points standings by 26 points heading into the USAC Silver Crown Series 100 at Richmond. Cameron Dodson trails 5th place in the drivers points by only six points heading into Richmond despite not driving in the season opener.
