CARL EDWARDS/ R.E. TECHNOLOGIES RACING TAKES THE POINTS LEAD INTO HOMESTEAD
MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- March 20, 2007 -- Carl Edwards/ R.E. Technologies Racing is riding their USAC Silver Crown Series points lead into Homestead-Miami Speedway this weekend after winning the season opener at Manzanita Speedway in Phoenix, Ariz. Rookie Cameron Dodson will take over the reigns of the No. 199 Ford powered Redline Oil, Hoosier Tire, C&R Chassis entry at the 1.5-mile oval. Saturday will mark Dodson's first start in the USAC Silver Crown Series presented by K&N Engineering but the 18 year old was able to gain some practice time earlier this month at Homestead. Cameron Dodson and the team turned a top speed of 168.382mph during testing on March 12th. The team finished 7th at Homestead in 2006 with rookie Peter Shepherd behind the wheel in his first race in the series.
Cameron Dodson comes to the Carl Edwards/ R.E. Technologies Racing team with an impressive resume. Dodson has NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, midget and both winged and non-wing racing starts under his belt. Cameron Dodson has driven for the Carl Edwards/ R.E. Technologies Racing team before. Dodson finished 8th in the season ending PRA Big Car Series race at Lakeland, Florida in December.

"We had a great test at Homestead and I really like the handling of the new Silver Crown™ cars. Hopefully we can have a strong finish at this event to reenergize the momentum we had in December and have a good showing for our sponsors." The USAC Silver Crown Series is scheduled to hit the track Thursday for two practice sessions, the first one from 12-12:45pm and the second session at from 1-1:45pm eastern. Qualifying will follow later in the day at 6pm. The race is scheduled to go green at 3:30pm eastern on Friday. The USAC Silver Crown Series will share the stage with the Rolex Sports Car Series, the Indy Pro Series and the IndyCar Series this weekend.
