KROGER/TIDE TEAM LOOKS FOR A REPEAT USAC SPRINT CAR CHAMPIONSHIP
Loveland Ohio, (April 1,2005)- No April fooling, Hoffman Racing is celebrating 76 years of competition in 2005. The defending USAC National Sprint Car Champions are loaded with a dedicated Team, driving talent, new cars, new motors, and a burning desire to WIN National Championship #9. Hoffman Racing is the winingest Team in USAC Sprint Car history with 8 National Championships and 60 national wins.
Hoffman Auto Racing (HAR) was founded by August "Gus" (Old Timer) Hoffman when he purchased a Model T Speedster in 1929 and converted it into the Team's first Sprint Car. Little did Gus know that 76 years later his sons Richard and Tom, and his grandson Rob would be carrying on the Family tradition of excellence in Motorsports.
Highlights of the Team's history include:
- 1929-1960 Gus campaigned Sprint Cars and Midgets, his drivers included Eddie Sachs, and Don Branson
- 1964 Gus's son Richard became co-owner of the Team
- 1973-1984 HAR fielded Indy Cars, including 7 Indy 500 starts
- 1989 HAR won the first of 8 USAC National Sprint Car Championships with Rob Hoffman as the crew chief('92,'93,'96,'97,'99,'02,'04)
- HAR is the winningest Team in USAC Sprint Car history
- 2003 recognized for excellence by the Ohio State Senate and House of Representatives

"We know Old Timer is with us every time we take the track, I like to think that we continue to make him proud. We are proud of our legacy and look forward to year 76 knowing that this entire Race Team is dedicated to win, win, win" said Richard Hoffman, President of Hoffman Auto Racing.
The Hoffman driver line up for 2005 includes : past USAC National Sprint Car Champion and NASCAR Craftsman Truck series driver Tracy Hines in the sprint cars on dirt and pavement( when available), Jerry Coons Jr. full time in the dirt Sprint Car, Brian Tyler in selected pavement Sprint Car races, and Eric Gordon full time in the pavement Silver Crown Car. HAR will field 2 dirt Sprint Cars in selected races for Tracy and Jerry.
Primary sponsorship will continue from Kroger and Tide, with associate sponsorship from MOPAR, Pringles, and Bounty .
Rob Hoffman continues as VP of Engineering and crew chief for HAR. Dan Landerville, VP of Operations continues in his vital role for the Team.
