UTAH, NORTH CAROLINA & INDIANA HOST FOCUSES; WINS TO HAMILTON, BOWMAN, DAILY, EDWARDS & THE RAIN
Utah, North Carolina and Indiana host USAC Ford Focus Midget racing this week as the Utah Development Series competes at Rocky Mountain Raceways in Salt Lake City Saturday, the Midwest/Indiana Series is at Anderson (Ind.) Speedway Wednesday and the Carolina Series races at Concord Motorsports Park Wednesday.
Kipp Posey (Utah), Kyle Hamilton (Midwest and Indiana) and Bradley Riethmeyer (Carolina) enter this week's events as the respective point leaders.
Hamilton led all 25 laps in the Gregg Steele Curtis Motor Sales/Pit Fit Training Beast to win Friday night's 25-lap Midwest feature at KilKare Speedway in Xenia, Ohio, beating Chett Gehrke, Katie Hargitt, Jordan Pennington and J.T. Hiltibran.
Julia Landauer of New York, N.Y. became the 18th different female driver to win a USAC feature event Wednesday night, leading all 30 laps of the Indiana Focus feature at Mount Lawn Speedway in New Castle, Ind. Trailing her Bob East Ford Racing Beast were female driver Alison MacLeod, Hamilton, Tyler Cottongtim and female driver Katie Hargitt.
Marc Daily of Fairmount, Ind. won last Wednesday night's Carolina feature at Concord Motorsports Park, leading all 40 laps to beat Steven Intravaia, Riethmeyer, Shane MacMillan and Rick Fedrizzi.
Tucson, Ariz.'s Alex Bowman led the final 11 laps of Saturday's California Pavement race at Altamont Motorsports Park in Tracy, Calif. to beat Bobby Santos III, Brendan Langlois, Ian Miille and Garrett Peterson. The win extended Bowman's point lead. Langlois led the first 19 laps.
Tyler Edwards of Salina, Okla. led all 20 laps to win Saturday night's USAC Junior Ford Focus race at Ventura (Calif.) Raceway over Joe Leiper, Jake Swanson, Charlie Butcher and Brody Roa.
