FOCUS RACING ON 5 FRONTS THIS WEEK; RIETHMEYER #1 AT KENLY; HEAVY RAIN FORCES VENTURA TO CANCEL

Five events are slated for USAC's busy Ford Focus Midget participants this week, beginning with Wednesday night's tripleheader USAC program at Mount Lawn Speedway in New Castle, Ind. where the Indiana Focus Series gets under way.

Saturday events include the Carolina Richard Petty Driving Experience Series at Franklin County Speedway in Callaway, Va. the Northeast Series debut at the Waterford (Conn.) Speedbowl, the California Pavement Series at Lucas Oil I-10 Speedway in Blythe and the Utah Developmental Series at Rocky Mountain Raceways in Salt Lake City.

Bradley Riethmeyer of Austin, Texas, last year's Carolina "Rookie of the Year," won Saturday's opening Carolina Ford Focus Series race at Southern National Raceway Park in Kenly, N.C., taking the lead late in the race from Tanner Swanson, who finished second. Mark Burt, Michael Sboro and Mike Ward completed the "top-five."

Saturday night's scheduled California Dirt Series race at the Ventura Raceway was canceled by heavy rains.

Series point leaders entering this weekend's competition include Nic Faas (Utah Developmental), Tim Skoglund (California Paved) and Riethmeyer (Carolina).
