The USAC California Dirt Ford Focus Midget Car Series resumes this Saturday night as part of a USAC "doubleheader" at Bakersfield (Calif.) Speedway also featuring the USAC Western Midgets. A 20-lap Ford Focus feature is on tap at the 1/3-mile dirt oval.
Sixteen-year-old Dustin Morgan of Collinsville, Okla. captured Saturday night's opening race of USAC's brand-new Oklahoma Ford Focus Midget Series presented by United Ford at the 3/8-mile dirt Tulsa Speedway. Morgan led all 25 laps in his Arc Wrecking Beast to beat Matt Sherrell, Jasiel Randolph, Evan Sewell and Matt Johnson.
The Oklahoma Focus series continues with another race at Tulsa Speedway April 23.
Rains forced postponement of Saturday's USAC California Pavement Ford Focus Series event at Stockton 99 Speedway. Track and USAC officials are working to reschedule the "Fred Gerhardt Open Wheel Classic" event and will announce a new date when firm.
