4 More Stops For Focuses This Weekend

Robbie Ray of Davenport, Iowa, Bobby Michnowicz of Harbor City, Calif., Bradley Galedrige of Los Altos, Calif. and Travis Young of Franklin, Ind. emerged victorious in USAC Ford Focus competition last week and four more Focus races are on tap for competitors this week.

The Midwest series heads for Kil-Kare Speedway in Xenia, Ohio for a 25-lapper this Friday night, while Carolina/Virginia participants are gearing up for Friday night's 25-lapper at Friendship Motor Speedway in Elkin. N.C. California Focus racing continues Saturday night at the Madera Speedway as part of that track's "Trigueiro Classic," while Traderindiana.com and Wheels and Deals present USAC "Open Wheel Wednesday" at the Blossom Chevrolet Indianapolis Speedrome Wednesday, with a 50-lapper slated.

Ray battled Ryan Litt for the victory at Limaland Motorsports Park in Lima, Ohio Friday night, Ray leading the final two laps for the win in his Valvoline/Simpson Beast. Litt finished second ahead of Tate Martz, Brad Loyet and Jordan Noblitt. Loyet led the first 13 laps before Ray and Litt dueled in the closing laps. Martz holds a 47-point lead in the new series standings.

Michnowicz earned his initial USAC feature victory in Friday's 25-lapper at Watsonville (Calif.) Speedway, leading all the way in his Timeless Enterprises/Torco Racing Oil TCR to beat Galedrige, Chris Rahe, Ryan Pace and Eric Pace. Galedrige came back on Saturday night to lead all 25 laps at Petaluma (Calif.) Speedway in his Wirtgen Group/Galedrige Construction Stealth. Rahe finished second ahead of Michnowicz, Ashley Swanson and Chase Barber. Galedrige continues to lead the California North standings by 73 over Rahe after the two races.

Young's 50-lap victory in Indianapolis came after he passed early race leader John Mount on lap 31. Jodi Meyers, Kevin Studley, Brice Kenyon and Andy Baber completed the "top-five" in the 50-lapper. Kenyon leads the Speedrome Focus standings going in to this Wednesday's series finale. Young drove the Matlock Ford Kenyon to the win.
