Chase Scott of Concord, N.C. capped his 2004 USAC Carolina/Virginia Ford Focus Midget Car Championship with his ninth victory of the campaign, taking Saturday night's 50-lap series finale at South Boston (Va.) Speedway. He becomes the second-winningest USAC driver of the season, trailing only Bobby East, who has 13 wins.
Bobby Michnowicz of Harbor City, Calif. led all 25 laps to win Saturday night's California North Ford Focus Series finale at the Bakersfield (Calif.) Speedway. It was the fourth win of 2004 for Michnowicz in his Timeless Enterprises/Torco Racing Oil TCR.
Bradley Galedrige of Los Altos, Calif., who emerged as the California North Ford Focus Champion after finishing fifth at Bakersfield, will try to catch South point leader Chris Rahe when the South series resumes this Saturday night at the Ventura (Calif.) Raceway. A 25-lap feature is on tap at the 1/5-mile dirt track. Rahe finished fourth at Bakersfield, behind Michnowicz, Josh Lakatos and Ashley Swanson.
