ANDERSON REGIONAL "TRIPLEHEADER" WEDNESDAY NIGHT; ARMSTRONG, LANDAUER, CHARLSON & GALLOWAY ALL #1
The popular "Open Wheel Extravaganza" USAC Regional tripleheaders continue this Wednesday night at Anderson (Ind.) Speedway with Travis Young (Regional Midget), Kyle Hamilton (Indiana Ford Focus) and Caleb Armstrong (Kenyon Midget) leading the series standings.
Dakoda Armstrong of New Castle, Ind. remained in the 2008 Regional Midget title chase last Wednesday night, winning the 30-lap feature at his "home" track -- Mount Lawn Speedway in New Castle. He led al 30 laps in his Bungee North America/Anderson's Grain Beast/Mopar to beat Young, James Robertson, Alison MacLeod and Hamilton.
Julia Landauer of New York, N.Y. became the 18th different female driver to win a USAC feature event Wednesday night, leading all 30 laps of the Indiana Focus feature at New Castle. Trailing her Bob East Ford Racing Beast were female driver MacLeod, Hamilton, Tyler Cottongim and female driver Katie Hargitt.
Drew Charlson of New Bremen, Ohio won Wednesday night's 30-Kenyon Midget feature at New Castle, leading the final 23 laps after passing Grant Galloway on lap eight. Galloway finished second behind Charlson's Century 21 Mid-America Properties/Aluma Trailer Yamaha and was followed by Caleb Armstrong, Dillon Welch and Jacob Thompson. Galloway came back to lead all 30 laps of Friday night's Kenyon Midget race at Anderson in his Todd Galloway Construction/84 Lumber Yamaha, beating Jeff Wimenauer, Caleb Armstrong, Welch and Mike Terry Jr.
