The Blossom Chevrolet Indianapolis Speedrome keeps churning out brand-new USAC feature winners, including the three who won feature events during last Wednesday night's Traderindiana.com and Wheels and Deals present "Open Wheel Wednesday" program.
Zach Jacobs of Constantine, Mich., Rex Norris III of Knightstown, Ind. and Kyle Robbins of New Castle, Ind. are the newest winners, each scoring 50-lap wins last Wednesday. A new trio could be on the horizon when the series continues this Wednesday night with three more 50-lappers on tap.
Jacobs led all but the first lap of the Kenyon Car race in his Jacobs Yamaha to beat Nick Bohanon, Bryan Clauson, Dakota Armstrong and A.J. Morgan. Alex Gamber led the opening lap before yielding to Jacobs, who is fifth in the new standings behind Armstong, who emerged as the series leader by only four points over Brent Beauchamp. Beauchamp was sixth Wednesday.
Norris put his Rex Norris Company/OFI RS Restraint Predator/Esslinger in the lead on lap four of the Regional midget feature and led the rest of the way to beat Travis Young, Matt Maners, Mel Kenyon and Norm Young. Series point leader Sondi Eden finished ninth. Adam Kramer led the first three laps of the race but finished 11th.
Robbins kept Norris from scoring a "double," passing him on the white-flag lap of the 50-lap Ford Focus feature. Norris had led 43 laps after passing Brandon Wagner on lap six. Rounding out the "top-five" at the finish were Wagner, series point leader Brice Kenyon and Jodi Meyers. Robbins piloted the Goodwin Brothers Auto/Magna Machine Stealth.
