NUETZEL, BABER, CLEMONS, HENNIGAN STAR AT SPEEDROME; ARMSTRONG RELEASED FROM METHODIST

The Hoosier flavor continued again Thursday during "Thursday Night Thunder" at the Blossom Chevrolet Indianapolis Speedrome, as Adam Nuetzel, Andy Baber and Thomas Hennigan of Indianapolis and Josh Clemons of Greenfield took features during the weekly series.

Nuetzel, driving the No. 17 Corvette Collection/O.B.'s Pizza Beast/Chevy, overtook Lee Stark on the 16th lap of 50 and led the remaining 35 laps for his first USAC Regional Midget Car Series victory of the season. Brad Kuhn finished second and is now tied with Nick Bohanon for the lead in the series standings. Rex Norris III, Bohanon and Mel Kenyon rounded out the Top 5.

Baber and Clemons split USAC Speedrome Ford Focus Midget Car Series features, one which carried over from last week's rainout. Baber led all 20 laps of the first feature for his first career USAC feature victory, while Clemons scored his second feature win of the season, a 25-lap ordeal, after passing Ricky Ehrgott on Lap 14. Baber drove the No. 27 Start to Finish/Celebration Catering Stealth/Ford Focus, while Clemons piloted the No. 71 Clemons Hauling Kenyon/Ford Focus. Jamie Williams, who finished third and fourth respectively, holds a 32-point advantage over Norris in the Ford Focus standings.

Thomas Hennigan scored his first career USAC Kenyon Midget Car Series victory, as he took the lead from Alison MacLeod on Lap 17. He was never headed thereafter, and led Jonathan Hendrick, Brent Beauchamp, Jacob Wilson and Cap Henry to the checkered flags. Hennigan drove the No. 41 Hennigan Racing Kenyon/Yamaha.

Defending Kenyon series champion Dakoda Armstrong was transported to Methodist Hospital following an accident on Lap 48 of the feature. He was treated and released shortly after.

"Thursday Night Thunder" continues next Thursday, June 16, at the 1/5-mile paved oval.
