USAC California Ford Focus North Series point leader Josh Lakatos of Pasadena, Calif. was victorious in his 2003 Midwestern debut Saturday night, winning the 20-lap Indiana Ford Focus race at Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, Ind.

Lakatos, USAC California Ford Focus South point leader Todd Hunsaker of Chino Hills, Calif., Stephen Graves of Upland, Calif. and Garrett Hansen of Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif. are all in the Midwest for races this week at Anderson, Ind. Wednesday night and Lima, Ohio Friday night. Twenty-lap feature events are on tap at each track. Wednesday night's Anderson program also features the "Bosma 50" USAC National Midget race.

Brice Kenyon and Lakatos brushed while battling for the lead at Putnamville, allowing Lakatos to lead the final seven laps in his Matco Tools/Race Truck Trends Beast while Kenyon, who led 10 laps before the incident, was forced to the sidelines. Tate Martz finished second ahead of Trenton Darland, J.R. Armstrong and Brandon Hartsell. Hunsaker finished eighth.

Robbie Ray led the first three laps of Saturday night's race but finished sixth. He holds a 61-point lead over Darland going into this week's races at Anderson Speedway and Limaland Motorsports Park.
