Josh Lakatos of Pasadena, Calif. scored his second consecutive USAC Indiana Ford Focus Midget Car feature victory Wednesday night at the Anderson (Ind.) Speedway. His bid for a "three-peat" ended when rains interrupted Friday night's program at Limaland Motorsports Park in Lima, Ohio.

Lakatos, the USAC California (North) Ford Focus point leader, had won his heat race before the rains came at Lima, forcing postponement of that event until August 22. Tate Martz also won a heat race at Lima but rains halted the program during the third scheduled heat.

Lakatos led all but six laps at Anderson, but had settled for second after losing the lead to Martz on lap 11. Martz encountered mechanical problems on lap 17, allowing Lakatos to take the win in his Matco Tools/Race Truck Trends Beast. Series point leader Robbie Ray finished second ahead of Brice Kenyon, Derek Crasi and Ryan Litt.

Ray holds an 88-point lead over series runner-up Trenton Darland going into Friday's initial Ford Focus race at Bloomington Speedway. Darland finished ninth in the Anderson race, part of the track's "Bosma 50" program.
