Focuses At Madera Saturday & Gas City April 30
Ryan Litt of Lyons, Ontario, Canada emerged the surprise winner of Sunday's 30-lap USAC Midwest Ford Focus Midget Car debut at the Anderson (Ind.) Speedway after an eight-car crash on lap 27 eliminated the first five cars!
Litt was running sixth when Jordan Noblitt spun in turn four, triggering an accident which involved race leader A.J. Davis and his four closest pursuers. Davis had led the first 26 laps prior to the incident.
After the restart, Litt and his BS & B Radiator/Relyt Media Beast led Trenton Darland to the checkered flag, followed by Brad Loyet, Jimmy Light and Travis Young. Litt started 14th in the 20-car field.
Darland, of Lincoln, Ind., holds a one-point lead over Litt in the Midwest standings, with a race at Gas City, Ind. next on the calendar, April 30.
Rain forced cancellation of Saturday's scheduled California Ford Focus Midget race at Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway. Bobby McGowan of Ramona, Calif. leads the California North Ford Focus standings going into this Saturday's racing program at Madera (Calif.) Speedway which also features the USAC Western Sprint Car Series debut. The Madera Focus race is a 25-lapper.
