ROBERTSON CLAIMS "ADAM PETTY TROPHY;" SEPTEMBER 16 NEW CASTLE "TRIPLEHEADER" OFF

James Robertson of Indianapolis, Ind. has won the 2007 "Adam Petty Trophy." He completed his drive to the championship Sunday at Mount Lawn Speedway in New Castle, Ind., finishing second in the 30-lap Regional Midget feature to finish with 102 total points, compared to 81 for Kyle Hamilton and 74 for Robby Parish.

Hamilton, of Danville, Ind., scored his ninth victory of the Kenyon Midget campaign Sunday but Robertson's points, garnered from competition in both Indiana Ford Focus and Regional Midget events, were too much to overcome.

Robertson will receive his award in January at USAC's annual "Champions Night" National Awards Dinner in Indianapolis, Ind.

The "Adam Petty Trophy" competition concluded Sunday since the September 16 events at New Castle have been canceled. The award honors the late NASCAR veteran, son of Kyle Petty and grandson of seven-time NASCAR Champion Richard Petty. <pre> FINAL 2007 "ADAM PETTY TROPHY" STANDINGS
