Season Wraps Up at Eldora

Rossburg, Ohio - September 29, 2004 -- The R.E. Technologies Racing team wrapped up their 2004 Silver Crown race season Saturday night at the Four Crown Nationals at Eldora Speedway.

The weekend started out promising for the team as Jerry Coons Jr. grabbed the 5th place spot in the No. 191 ParkerStores/ Gaerte Engines/ Sander Engineering car. Rookie Boston Reid was right behind Coons on the time charts. The Indiana native qualified the No. 35 Curb Records machine 7th quick, the best qualifying position of the season for the young rookie.

The team's luck would change when the green flag fell on Saturday. Boston Reid was running in 8th on lap 13 when a tire on the Curb Records machine blew causing the car to make contact with the turn three wall and flip violently. Reid emerged from the No. 35 unhurt but the car was done for the night. Jerry Coons Jr. slipped back through the field to finish 18th.

Dave Darland won the event. Dave Steele clinched the USAC Weld Racing Silver Crown Series title.

Reid finished the season 12th in points. Coons ended the season 14th in unofficial driver's points. The Arizona native finished the season tied for third in the Earl's Plumbing Fast Qualifier Championship for the Silver Crown Division.
