CARL EDWARDS/ R.E. TECHNOLOGIES PREPARE FOR FOUR CROWN NATIONALS

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- September 19, 2006 -- Jerry Coons Jr., Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and the Carl Edwards/ R.E. Technologies Racing team are looking to end the dirt portion of the 2006 USAC Silver Crown Series presented by K&N schedule on a positive note. The team is coming off their third podium finish of the season last weekend at Iowa Speedway. Jerry Coons Jr., driver of he No. 199, has had success earlier this season at Eldora. Coons won the USAC National Sprint Car Series opener there in April.

"I am looking forward to the weekend," said Coons. "We have had some real good runs there in a sprint car this season."

Even though Ricky Stenhouse Jr. is a rookie in the USAC Silver Crown Series, he has spent a good amount of time on the high banks at Eldora and at other tracks in Ohio. The Mississippi native won three winged sprint car events earlier this season during Ohio Sprint Week.

"I have run Eldora several times in a sprint car so I am already familiar with the track so that should help out a lot," said Stenhouse. "I have never driven a non-wing car at Eldora but I really like banked tracks."

This weekend will also be the first time Stenhouse has raced on a track prior to piloting a Silver Crown car on it. The 2006 season has been a learning experience for the 18 year old. After two DNF's in a row, Ricky Stenhouse rebounded with a 12th place finish at DuQuoin.

"I feel a lot better going into Eldora than I did going into DuQuoin since we are coming off of our best finish in the Silver Crown Series so far this season," said Stenhouse. "I think we will have a good run at Eldora."

Mopar Thunder at the Four Crown Nationals at Eldora Speedway will be a busy time for both Coons and Stenhouse. Both Jerry Coons Jr. and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. will drive in three of the four divisions competing at Eldora this weekend. Coons will drive the No. 69 Kroger/Tide/Bounty/Pringles MOPAR Hoffman Racing sprint and No. 11 Wilke-PAK Motorsports Team Mopar Spike-Mopar midget in addition to his duties behind the No. 199 Ford Carl Edwards/ R.E. Technologies Racing entry. Stenhouse will drive the No. 52r Dynotech Butlerbuilt midget for Brent Nausley and Harold Frazier and pilot the No. 40r Dynotech J&J Butlerbuilt sprint car in addition to driving the No. 35 Carl Edwards/ R.E. Technologies Racing Silver Crown car.

"The additional track time I will receive from running the midget, sprint and Silver Crown car all at the same track on the same weekend should benefit me this weekend," said Stenhouse.

"Your confidence is up when you walk into the Four Crown Nationals," added Coons. "You know you have got good three cars underneath you. You know the cars are going to do their jobs so you have to step in and do your job. I think I have a legitimate shot at winning each division so it should be a good weekend."
