TEAM FINISHES 15th AT DARK RAIN SOAKED NEW HAMPSHIRE
The Carl Edwards/ R.E. Technologies Racing team fought rain and bad luck to finish 15th last Saturday in a darkness shortened race at New Hampshire International Speedway. Rain washed out the morning practice and qualifying session at New Hampshire. The competitors would take the track for a practice/ qualifying session late in the day just prior to sundown. Cameron Dodson made the most of the session turning in a lap of 127.057 mph, giving him his first Silver Crown pole of his career. When the green flag dropped on the race, NASCAR Nextel Cup driver J.J. Yeley dashed into the lead with Dodson right behind him. The rare mechanical gremlins struck as the throttle pedal broke. The crew quickly made repairs and Dodson returned to the track seven laps down. Undaunted, Cameron Dodson raced around the "Magic Mile" turning fast laps but finished 15th due to laps lost when the race was called 31 laps into the 50 lap feature due to darkness.
The weather forecast for this weekend in Eldora calls for clear skies. The 50-lap K & N Silver Crown feature follows a 25-lap USAC National Midget and 30-lap Lucas Oil USAC National Sprint feature to conclude Saturday's racing action at the 1/2-mile dirt oval.
Cameron Dodson heads into Eldora 7th in the drivers points, only 10 points out of 6th. The No. 199 Carl Edwards/ R.E. Technologies Racing entry sits in 3rd in the owners points, just 7 points out of 2nd.
