J.J. Yeley of Phoenix, Ariz. won Saturday night's 25-lap "4-Crown Nationals" WorldCom National Midget Car feature at the Eldora Speedway in Rossburg., Ohio. The victory left him fifth in the series standings going into this Saturday night's nationally-televised (ESPN2) race at the Anderson (Ind.) Speedway. The Anderson race is slated for broadcast October 3 from 8-10 pm ET.

Yeley led the final 14 laps of the Eldora race in his Ford/ASE/Beast/Performance Racing Industry Pink Ford/Beast. He passed Jay Drake on the 12th lap and led the rest of the way to beat Dave Darland, Steve Paden, Aaron Fike and Matt Westfall as Drake failed to finish. Tony Elliott led the opening lap before yielding to Drake.

Darland, the WorldCom National Midget Car Series point leader, has made remarkable progress in his recovery from injuries sustained in a multi-car incident on lap 16 of Saturday night's Sprint Car race. He was moved out of intensive care on Sunday and is undergoing further testing in the hospital's neurological unit. He was awake and alert, had been up walking and his release from the Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio was expected as early as Tuesday.

A 40-lap feature caps Saturday night's program of events at Anderson Speedway. Practice begins at 6 pm and qualifying starts at 7. The first race gets under way at 8.
