Dirt-Track Champ To Be Crowned At Terre Haute Saturday

Saturday night's "Fall Harvest Classic" racing program at the Terre Haute (IN) Action Track will witness the crowning of at least one 2001 USAC racing champion.

Shane Hollingsworth of Indianapolis, Ind. and John Wolfe of Winchester, Ind. are separated by only three points in the battle for the USAC Dirt-Track Regional Midget Championship. Saturday night's 20-lap feature at the 1/2-mile dirt oval is the final race in this year's series and a total of 72 points are available.

Matt Sandy of Lafayette, Ind. is also mathematically still in the hunt, but trails the leaders by 58 and 55 points respectively.

The "Fall Harvest Classic" includes two 30-lap USAC Stoops Freightliner Sprint Car features as well, with the "Jan Opperman Classic" taking the green flag at 6:15 pm, prior to the Midget events and the second Sprint car program.
