Motorsport.com - USAC Sprint points leader, Jay Drake is in Indianapolis' Methodist Hospital in the neuro-critical care unit. He has a "closed head injury" in addition to a broken collar bone and broken arm. Doctors are monitoring his condition and further scans are planned Monday morning. He stil is listed in serious but stable condition.

Drake flipped his #67 Kunz Dirt Track Regional Midget during the third heat at the Fall Harvest Classic Friday, October 20th. Drake was immediately transported to Terre Haute Regional Hospital.

Drake was later transferred to Indianapolis' Methodist Hospital for unknown injuries. At time of arrival, he was listed in serious but stable condition.

Prior to the accident, Drake ran in the USAC Sprint car feature one race known as the Jan Opperman Classic where he finished fourth (two positions in front of JJ Yeley -- second in points). However, Drake's accident happened prior to the Sprint car feature two race.
