"BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT" SATURDAY AT THE PAS; KRUSEMAN POSTS "HOME-TRACK" VICTORY AT VENTURA

Anyone with a valid school I.D. will be admitted free this Saturday night when the Lucas Oil USAC/CRA Sprint Cars return to Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway for "Back-to-School Night."

Mike Spencer of Temecula, Calif. leads the series standings and has already posted four "podium" finishes at the PAS. His only victory of the season came at Perris in March but he's also had three second-place finishes there.

Garrett Hansen, who is second in the standings is riding a wave of top Perris finishes, having finished no worse than fourth in his last six starts at the 1/2-mile dirt track. That includes victories in June and July.

Spencer, seeking his first-ever USAC title, has finished sixth, fifth, fourth and second in the standings the last four years.

Cory Kruseman used his "home track" advantage to full benefit Saturday night, leading all 30 laps to win the Lucas Oil USAC/CRA Sprint car feature at Ventura (Calif.) Raceway. He wheeled his Agromin/Lucas Oil/Sander Engineering Viper/Mopar to the win over Tony Jones, Danny Sheridan, Tyler Brown and Alan Ballard. Austin Mero won the 20-lap "Wagsdash" which accompanied the USAC/CRA events.
