DAVID CARDEY TAKES USAC/CRA POINT LEAD AND TWO NEW SPONSORS TO CALISTOGA!

(SEPTEMBER 3, 2009, RIVERSIDE, CA) When the popular USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series converges on the famed Calistoga Fairgrounds Speedway for this Saturday and Sunday's Lou Vermeil Classic, Riverside, California's "Dynamite" David Cardey will be bringing the point lead in the championship standings and two brand new sponsors to the battle.

Cardey, a 33-year old father of one, lost the point lead on July 4th at Southern California's Perris Auto Speedway. However, on a night that thrilled a huge throng in the Perris grandstands one month later, Cardey had to restart at the back of the pack after spinning early in the 30-lap main event. What transpired from that point on amazed all as he drove his ITI powered Viper 5 Bar Chassis from the back to a third place finish. He PASSED 19 cars in 23 laps and was challenging for second at the checkered flag. The awe-inspiring drive catapulted Cardey back into point lead. When the first green flag of the weekend flies to honor Vermeil this Saturday, Cardey will have a 22-point advantage over his closest pursuer.

This weekend's holiday racing foray will mark Cardey's second ever appearance at the legendary Northern California racetrack. His first was at last year's Vermeil Classic. Things started off rosy enough on the first day when Cardey qualified sixth fastest in the 33 car field. However, things unraveled from that point on and he finished 23rd and 15th in the weekend's two main events. Don't expect that to happen again.

As mentioned in the first paragraph, Cardey is welcoming two brand new sponsors this weekend. DWT Wheels and Defender Products are now a part of his 2009 racing effort. They join ITI Performance Motorsports, Empire Plumbing, Circle Track Racing, Racer's Pub, Powell Pipe & Supply, Hoosier Tires, K&N Filters, 5-Star Gas & Gear and Scott Daloisio Sports in Cardey's fight for the 2009 USAC/CRA crown. To add your company to the sponsor list of David Cardey Racing's winning team, please use the contact information at the start or end of this release.

After this weekend's doubleheader in the Wine Country, Cardey and the famous red #38 will take next weekend off before returning to Perris Auto Speedway on September 19th for the Jack Kindoll Classic.
