Jay Drake of Val Verde, Calif. leads the WorldCom National Midget Car Series to Hawkeye Downs in Ceadr Rapids, Iowa for this Friday night's racing program on the 1/2-mile paved oval after rains washed out last Friday night's scheduled race at the Kentucky Speedway.

The WorldCom National Midget Car Series returns to Kentucky Speedway on Friday night, August 10. Rains forced cancellation of last Friday night's events following the completion of practice on the 1/4-mile oval.

Drake leads Tony Ave by a single point in the series standings going into the Cedar Rapids race, which gets under way with practice at 5:30 pm. Qualifying is slated at 6:30 and the first race is at 7:30. A 30-lap feature is on tap.

Drake will be seeking his initial USAC feature triumph of the 2001 season in the Cedar Rapids program after winning a record-tying 19 features in the year 2000. <pre> USAC WORLDCOM NATIONAL MIDGET CAR SERIES STANDINGS
