Cameron Dodson and RAM Engineering Reunite for Selected USAC Sprint Car Races
"Kenny Irwin Memorial" on High Banks of Winchester Speedway First on Limited 2006 Schedule
Winchester, IN - You can take the driver out of open wheel racing but you can't always take the open wheel out of the driver. The championship-winning combination of Cameron Dodson and RAM Engineering will reunite to run selected United States Auto Club (USAC) Sprint Car races the remainder of the 2006 season.
Sunday afternoon, June 11, 2006, the Winchester (Ind.) Speedway inaugural "Kenny Irwin Memorial" will be the first pairing of the defending Auto Value/Bumper-to-Bumper Super Sprints series champions.
"I am really excited to be back with Dick and Deborah Myers and the RAM Engineering team," said Dodson. "While I am totally committed to my May's Motorsports team and the Hooters Pro Cup program, I have missed running on the pavement in open wheel and can't thank the team enough for their willingness to work around my stock car schedule so we can race together again.
"Winchester is one of my absolute favorite tracks, I love it," Dodson concluded. "It will be fun to get back in a sprint car there. The competition in the USAC Sprint Car series is incredible and I know I will have to really work hard to get back up to speed but I know I will have a great car and team behind me.
"My number one priority is the Hooters Pro Cup Series but I think that running with RAM Engineering on pavement in the sprint car will help with the stock car. I am a racer, I love to race and the more I am in a race car, the happier I am. It will be a busy weekend with the Hooters race Saturday night at Mansfield then the USAC race Sunday at Winchester, but I am looking forward to spending so much time racing."
