East eyes Anderson repeat Saturday.

Bobby East of Brownsburg, Ind. hopes to repeat history when the USAC Midget Cars invade the Anderson, Ind. Speedway this Saturday night for a "special" non-points event. A 30-lap feature is planned on the 1/4-mile paved oval, following complete prelims.

East won a similar race at Anderson last season at age 16, beating lady driver Sarah McCune and Teddy Beach to the checkered flag.

East followed up that 2001 Anderson win with the USAC National Midget Car Series "Rookie of the Year" honors and a historic victory at Schererville, Ind. in July, becoming the youngest driver ever to win a USAC National feature event.

Beach finished third and East fourth in the April 7 USAC National Midget race at Anderson. Jason Leffler set the Anderson Speedway USAC Midget track record of 11.406 in 1998, but that record will remain intact as a National record.
