PARISH EARLY LEADER FOR "ADAM PETTY TROPHY"

Robby Parish of Knightstown, Ind. is the early leader in the chase for the 2007 "Adam Petty Trophy" awarded to the top driver in USAC's "Wednesday Night Thunder" racing programs.

Parish leads the standings determined by a special international point system awarding the top six finishers in each feature event from the Regional Midget, Kenyon Midget and Indiana Ford Focus Midget events comprising the "tripleheader" series presented by the Richard Petty Driving Experience.

Parish's strength comes from the fact that he has performed well in both the Regional and Ford Focus events, winning three times in the Regional series and once in the Focuses. Along the way he's added a second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth and leads runner-up Kyle Hamilton of Danville, Ind. by 15 points entering Wednesday's racing program at Plymouth (Ind.) Speedway.

Hamilton's proficiency in the Kenyon Midgets has kept him in the chase, posting two firsts, two seconds, a third and a fourth.

James Robertson of Indianapolis, Ind. currently ranks third, five points behind Hamilton. Robertson has posted victories in both Regional and Focus competition.

The "Adam Petty Trophy," honoring the late NASCAR veteran, will be presented at the annual USAC Champions Night in Indianapolis in January.
