Delhi T1 Prima: Summerfield secures win in race two

Castron Vecton’s Matt Summerfield took victory in the second international race of Tata Prima Truck Racing Championship at the Buddh International Circuit on Sunday.

Like yesterday’s race one, Summerfield, Graham Powell and Rick Collett battled for the top spot, but this time it was the three-time British Truck Racing Champion emerging on top.

Race one winner Powell was 1.444s adrift of Summerfield and was 0.909s ahead of third-placed Collett in front of a packed BIC seated at the main grandstand.

David Jenkins finished over five-and-a-half seconds adrift in fourth place, with Tony Smith completing the top five. Ben Home was sixth.

After yesterday’s disappointment, Oily Janes enjoyed far better fortunes, finishing in seventh place.

Further back, Team Dealer Warrior’s Paul McCumisky was classified eight, with Adam Bint and Brian Burt rounding off the top 10.

Simon Cole was the last of the classified finishers, after Ray Coleman retired on the opening lap.
