Hayner in the bonus.... qualifies third for Sunday's Trans Am feature.
Trois Rivieres, Quebec - August 3, 2002 - Once again, team Revolution Motorsports lays it all on the line and puts an outstanding #02 Trenton Forging Corvette in the capable hands of Stu Hayner and Stu delivers.
"What can I say?" remarked Stu." Shane and Shail Duhaime listen... I tell them what I`m feeling and they come back with a solution. Friday morning seems like a long time ago... we started out touch and go, but I think we've got a car I can win with. I'm sure we'll fuss with a few things tonight, but for the most part, we're good to go."
"You've got to use your head on this track," Stu continued. "It's real tempting to go out there and throw the car around... it's more than overdriving the car, it's overdriving the track. That can get you in trouble real quick. This place is narrow and the surface is constantly changing. You've got some elevation changes in a few corners that are right in the middle of the apex. If you don't pay attention to who's around you, you'll give up a couple of spots before you know it."
Don Sak qualified the #10 Revolution Motorsports / missingchildren.ca Corvette in 11th.
"You know, I haven't really had much seat time since Lime Rock... and even there it was only one complete session," Don recalled. I'm happy qualifying mid pack. I'm getting pretty comfortable with the car and reasonably comfortable with the track. It's not a place to go out and start getting cocky right out of the box. I think all the drivers would do well to show some patience out there on Sunday. It wouldn't take much for this place to bite you. I look to have a good smart run.
