Road America: American Spirit Friday report

JIMMY VASSER, ...

JIMMY VASSER, #12 American Spirit/Ford-Reynard/Cosworth

Qualifying 1: 11th 1.22.171 118.684 mph

Vasser on Qualifying: "We started with two different settings as a team. My setting turned out to be the worse of the two, so we are about a session behind. I am confident in the platform we have to build on. I didn't get a decent lap in the first run and then my second lap was the best of the second stint. After that I had a lot of traffic. The best lap here should be between four and six, so I know there is more in it."

RYAN HUNTER-REAY, #31 American Spirit/Ford-Reynard/Cosworth

Qualifying 1: 7th 1:21.846 119.155 mph

Hunter-Reay on Qualifying: "Our timing in the session was horrible, sometimes that happens and you get that short end of the stick, it is a hard call here. I didn't get the most of the car, but we also have issues with the set-up. We need to make some big changes to the car tonight to fix the understeer. It is actually a good feeling to be frustrated being p.7, but I know we can be better as well."
