Hayner at the ready with #02 Trenton Forging Corvette aimed at Miami's Victory Circle

Detroit - September 1, 2002 - Hitting the beach will have a whole new meaning when the Stu Hayner / Trenton Forging Power Tour comes to Miami with the Trans-Am Series for the BF Goodrich Tires Cup at the Grand Prix of Americas, October 4-6.

"We're still buzzing from Denver," said Hayner. "When I last spoke to Revolution Motorsports' crew chief, Shane Duhaime, he and the guys were flat out ready to go racing. Our confidence is up, goals are defined and the #02 Trenton Forging Corvette is Huffaker Engineering powered! We're ready."

At last months race in Denver, Hayner was second fastest for the first two rounds of practice, fastest in qualifying, fastest in Sunday's practice and set the three fastest laps in the race. Hayner, who has two podium appearances, seven top-ten finishes, six top five finishes and has qualified for two poles in 2002, is prime for a win.

Currently fifth in the points, Hayner is poised to gun down fourth place 2002 Rookie of the Year, Butch Leitzinger (8 point advantage) and set his sights on Johnny Miller, currently sitting third.

"This thing's not over by a long shot," Hayner remarked. "Three races add up to 25% of our season. Hopefully, our bad luck is behind us and we can keep the #02 Trenton Forging Corvette up front and in striking position. We just need to keep ourselves in a position to be there at the end. That's our race strategy and that is our point championship strategy. You have to be in a position to be there at the end. I think we are."

Revolution Motorsports and the Trans-Am Series for the BF Goodrich Tires Cup are in Miami for the Grand Prix of the Americas on October 4-6. The American LeMans Series and the CART FedEx Series will also run in conjunction with the Trans-Am cars. The race will air at 5:30pm EST (1 hour tape delay) Sunday on SPEED Channel.

In association with Trenton Forging, Revolution Motorsports competes as part of the Trans-Am Series for the BF Goodrich Tires Cup. All events are nationally televised on CBS and SPEED channel (formerly Speedvision). The Trans-Am Series is the oldest form of American sports car racing.
