Hayner to autograph free fan appreciation poster at Miami.
Miami - October 3, 2002 - For Stu Hayner it's always been about the fans. To show his appreciation, fans attending the Trans-Am Series autograph session [Sunday, 11:45am - 12:30pm] will be able to pick up the limited edition "Not To Be Denied" Stu Hayner / Trenton Forging poster.
The large full color poster, designed by Detroit based Creative Communications Group, features a blow-up of Hayner's helmet with an image of his #02 Trenton Forging Corvette in action, reflected in the helmet's visor.
"You know, you have good days and bad days in this sport," said Hayner. "But when your fans support you like ours do, it makes every day a great day. We're really fortunate to have the fans cheering us on everywhere we race. We want them to know how much we appreciate it. I think they'll enjoy the poster."
At last months race in Denver, Hayner was second fastest for the first two rounds of practice, fastest in qualifying, fastest in Sunday's practice and set the three fastest laps in the race. Hayner, who has two podium appearances, seven top-ten finishes, six top five finishes and has qualified for two poles in 2002, is prime for a win.
Currently fifth in the points, Hayner is poised to gun down fourth place 2002 Rookie of the Year, Butch Leitzinger (8 point advantage) and set his sights on Johnny Miller, currently sitting third.
